Sacramento Mather Airport Noise
The Sacramento County Airport System (SCAS) understands that noise is a byproduct of aircraft operations and strives to minimize its effect on the communities near its airports. The SCAS employs an active Airport Noise Office to work with aircraft operators and Federal Aviation Administration air traffic control personnel to encourage quiet flying techniques, while maintaining a safe and efficient air traffic system. The Noise Office also seeks to inform prospective homebuyers about aircraft noise in the Sacramento Metropolitan Region as well as to respond to community concerns regarding aircraft noise. The Noise Office is also actively involved in promoting compatible land use near the County-owned airports.
