Where is my airline located?

Please see the Airline Guide section for more information about the location of your airline.

Do you have shuttles or taxis to and from the airport?

Yes.  Information about taxi rates, shuttle reservations, and contact information can be found on the Ground Transportation page.

Can I wait at the curb for a passenger?

No.  The curb is reserved for active loading and unloading of passengers.  You may want to park in the Hourly Parking Lot and meet your party on the lower level of the terminal since the first 30 minutes of parking are free.

How much is parking?

Please see the Parking Information page for more information about parking rates and locations.

What identification is normally needed for air travel?

A government-issued photo ID is required for all adults boarding a plane.  For information about identification needs for minors, please contact your airline.

What is and isn't allowed on an airplane?

Please see the Security Updates section for more information about prohibited and permitted items as well as packing tips.

How much time should I allow for check in and getting through the security checkpoint?

Each airline suggests its own amount of time for check in and getting through the security checkpoint so you may want to check with your airline via the number listed on the Airline Link/Phone page.  A good general guideline is 1½ hours.

Can I smoke at Sacramento International Airport (SMF)?

No.  Smoking is not allowed inside or within 20 feet of any Sacramento County building.

I lost something at the airport.  Do you have a lost-and-found?

Yes.  Please call (916) 874-0701 and leave a detailed message concerning your lost object.  The Sheriffs frequently listen to these messages and will return your call if they have the object.
